CURO-π6 Code of Conduct

CURO-Pi6 is committed to fostering an inclusive and harassment-free conference experience for everyone. This commitment extends to all participants, regardless of gender, identity, expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Discrimination or harassment of any form will not be tolerated (definitions provided below). This includes, but is not limited to, inappropriate comments or jokes of a sexist, racist, or exclusionary nature. Unwelcome sexual language, imagery, or remarks related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion are strictly prohibited.

By attending a CURO-Pi6 meeting, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Specifically, participants are expected to:

Professional Behavior

  • Communicate appropriately for a professional, diverse audience. Sexual language, imagery, and disrespectful comments are not appropriate.

  • Be respectful and considerate toward others. Critiques of scientific work are acceptable, but personal insults or derogatory remarks are not.

  • Cease any inappropriate behavior immediately if requested.

Handling Violations of the Code

If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it confidentially to the local organizing committee (LOC) or any member of the CURO-Pi6 International Advisory Board.

The LOC and the International Advisory Board will assess the situation and determine appropriate actions, which may include warnings, sanctions, or expulsion from the conference without refund. A record of the incident will be maintained within CURO-Pi6 for accountability.

Photography and Video

Respect the privacy of all participants. Unauthorized or unwelcome recording or photography of individuals or their materials, including scientific content, is prohibited. Attendees must obtain explicit permission from presenters before photographing or recording scientific material.
